New York Yankees Announce Sudden Roster Move With 5-Year MLB Player

On Sunday afternoon, the New York Yankees played the final game of their series with the Houston Astros.

The Yankees lost by a score of 7-4.

They had their eight-game winning streak come to an end.

Luis Gil pitched 4.0 innings, allowing five hits, six runs and three walks.

Chris Kirschner of The Athletic wrote during the game: “Luis Gil has not been an MLB viable starter for over a year now. Maybe he’ll get back to being one again, but the quicker the Yankees have him back in the minors, the better they will be.”

Everything Yankees: “Hopefully today was the last we see of Luis Gil starting.”

@ncostanzo24: “Wow shocked they actually made the move. Wonder who takes his spot”

@YankeesFocus: “Yankees options to replace Luis Gil on the 26-man roster — Carlos Lagrange or Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz. Would mean they’d shuffle into the rotation as the #5. — Yovanny Cruz or Kervin Castro. Would mean Ryan Yarbrough shuffles into the rotation as the #5.”
