On Wednesday evening, the New York Yankees beat the Los Angeles Angels (in the bronx) by a score of 5-4.

The Yankees now lead the Angels 2-1 with the series finale on Thursday.

After the game, Aaron Boone announced an update on star pitcher Gerrit Cole.

Bryan Hoch of MLB.com wrote: “Gerrit Cole will make a rehab start for @SOMPatriots on Friday, Aaron Boone said.”

Cole missed the entire 2025 season.

He had been coming off a year (in 2024) where he went 8-5 with a 3.41 ERA in 17 games.
