New York Mets Make Luis Robert Jr. Decision Before Athletics Game

On Sunday afternoon, the New York Mets will play the final game of their series against the Athletics.

The Mets are coming off an 11-6 loss (on Saturday).

Luis Robert Jr. finished the game with one hit, one walk, one run and two strikeouts in four at-bats.

For Sunday’s game, the Mets have announced their starting lineup.

Robert Jr. is not in the lineup.

Jake Kirby of FPTrack.com wrote: “Luis Robert Jr. is out of the lineup for Sunday’s game, limiting his fantasy production for the day.”

Robert Jr. is in his first season playing for the Mets.

The 28-year-old is batting .319 with two home runs, seven RBI’s, nine runs and two stolen bases in 14 games.

Robert Jr. played the first six years of his career for the Chicago White Sox.

He made the 2023 All-Star Game.

So far, Robert Jr. has appeared to be a huge addition for New York.

Laura Albanese of Newsday wrote (on January 20): “A source confirms that the Mets have acquired outfielder Luis Robert Jr from the White Sox in exchange for Luisangel Acuña and pitcher Truman Pauley.”

Mets Right Now

The Mets are 7-8 in their first 15 games, which has them as the fourth-place team in the National League East.

They are 3-5 in the eight games they have played at Citi Field.

Following the Athletics, the Mets will play their next game on Monday when they visit the Los Angeles Dodgers.
