On Sunday, the New York Mets will play the San Francisco Giants for the final matchup of a four-game series.

They have won two out of the first three, after most recently winning by a score of 9-0 (on Saturday).

For Sunday’s game, the Mets have announced their starting lineup.

Juan Soto remains out of action.

Soto had gotten off to a strong start to the 2026 season, batting .355 with one home run, five RBI’s and three runs.

Mike Mayer of Metsmerized Online wrote:Brett Baty has been scratched from the Mets lineup and Juan Soto is not in action.

In Triple-A for potential options, Christian Arroyo was a lineup scratch for Syracuse and Nick Morabito is not playing (on the 40-man roster). MJ Melendez and Ronny Mauricio are playing.”

The Mets have gotten off to a respectable start to the new season, going 5-4 in their first nine games.

After their series with the Giants, they will play their next game on April 7 when they return to Citi Field to host the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Last year, the Mets went 83-79 (but missed the MLB playoffs on the final day of the regular season).

Soto finished his first year with the Mets batting .263 with 43 home runs, 105 RBI’s and 120 runs.

In addition to the Mets, he has also spent time with the Washington Nationals, New York Yankees and San Diego Padres over nine seasons.

Giants Ahead Of Sunday’s Game

The Giants are 3-6 in their first nine games, which has them as the fourth-place team in the National League West.

Following the Mets, they will play their next game on Monday when they remain in San Francisco to host the Philadelphia Phillies.

Last season, the Giants missed the MLB playoffs with an 81-81 record.
