New York Knicks Star Karl-Anthony Towns Made NBA History Against Hawks

On Monday night, the New York Knicks played the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena in Georgia.

The Knicks won by a score of 108-105.

Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 21 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block while shooting 9/12 from the field and 2/4 from three-point range in 32 minutes of playing time.

During the game, Towns also made NBA history.

Knicks PR wrote: “Karl-Anthony Towns is the fastest player in NBA history to eclipse 16,000 points, 8,000 rebounds and 1,000 three-pointers (718 career games). He’s also the seventh player in NBA history to accomplish this.”

Towns is in his second season playing for New York.

He came into the night with averages of 20.1 points, 11.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest while shooting 49.9% from the field and 37.0% from three-point range in 72 games.

The Knicks improved to 51-28 in 79 games, which has them as the third seed in the Eastern Conference.

They are in the middle of a three-game winning streak (and have won seven out of ten).

Following the Hawks, the Knicks will play their next game on Thursday night when they host the Boston Celtics.

Towns and the Knicks reached the Eastern Conference finals in 2025 (for the first time in 25 years).

If they can stay healthy, they will have an excellent chance to make the NBA Finals this season.
