New York Giants Bring 1,000-Yard RB in for Closer Look

The New York Giants found their running backs in an unwelcome spotlight following the preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

That came after Tyrone Tracy missed a simple blocking assignment that led to a sack of starting quarterback Jaxson Dart — and landed Dart in the medical tent.

The Giants signaled they might be even more disturbed by the lapse on Monday, bringing in former Pittsburgh Steelers running back and 2021 1st-round pick Najee Harris for a visit.

Harris rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his 1st 4 seasons with the Steelers. He signed a 1-year, $9.5 million contract with the Los Angeles Chargers before the 2025 season. Harris missed all of training camp and preseason after suffering an injury in a fireworks mishap on July 4.

After returning from his fireworks injuries, Harris tore his Achilles tendon after just 3 games with the Chargers.

“Free-agent RB Najee Harris is visiting today with the New York Giants,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote on his official X account on Monday.
