As the NBC News report noted, an incident report revealed new details of what was taking place in the moments before the crash on Friday.

“Tiger Woods allegedly told a Florida sheriff’s deputy that he was distracted by his cellphone before he clipped the back of a trailer in a rollover Friday, according to an incident report that said the golfer showed ‘signs of impairment’ and had opioid pain pills in his pocket,” the report noted.

The report added that Woods struck a truck as it was turning into a driveway on Jupiter Island, near the golfer’s home.

“The driver of the truck told authorities that he was starting to make the turn when he looked in his mirror and saw Woods traveling ‘at high speeds,’ the sheriff’s office said,” the report added.

The police report claimed that Woods overtook the truck and swerved to avoid a crash but struck the trailer, which led to his Land Rover overturning. The golfer was able to climb out of the window and had no reported injuries, but was arrested at the scene.
