NBA World Reacts As Jared McCain Carries OKC Thunder in Game 3 Vs Spurs

Jared McCain put on a clinic in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, carrying the OKC Thunder to an all-important 123-108 victory against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night. 

McCain recorded his playoff career-high 24 points along with four rebounds and one assist. McCain tallied a 10-for-21 shooting clip, with his points mostly coming from the short midrange or in the paint after struggling to shoot from the 3-point line at a 2-for-10 clip. 

McCain’s production comes at a pivotal time for the Thunder as they navigate through injuries of guard Ajay Mitchell, who exited the game in the third quarter, and Jalen Williams, who did not suit up after re-aggravating his left hamstring strain in Game 2.

With his performance, the NBA world was left astonished by McCain’s offensive ineptitude following multiple plays where he challenged Defensive Player of the Year Victor Wembanyama.

Meanwhile, other fans roasted the Spurs for failing to contain McCain, who came off the bench but finished the game off in place of starter Mitchell, who just logged 17 minutes.

Bench Players Delivered For OKC

OKC Thunder’s bench scored 76 points to lead the team’s offensive flow. On the other hand, the Spurs only had 23 points off the bench. 

Aside from McCain, the Thunder also got 18 points from Jaylin Williams, who nailed five 3-pointers, 15 points from Alex Caruso, and 11 from Cason Wallace. 

As a team, they made 45 percent of their threes, shooting on a 17-for-38 clip throughout the game.

The Thunder now holds the series lead after dropping Game 1 in Oklahoma City. Game 4 will be on Sunday in San Antonio.
