On Wednesday night, the Boston Celtics will play the Charlotte Hornets on their home floor in Massachusetts.
Over the last week, there has been a lot of hope that Jayson Tatum may be able to return to action for the first time since the 2025 NBA playoffs.

Unfortunately, the Celtics have announced that Tatum remains out for Wednesday’s showdown in Boston.
The 2024 NBA Champion is coming off a season where he had excellent averages of 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 45.2% from the field and 34.3% from three-point range in 72 games.

The Celtics come into play as the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 41-20 record in 61 games.
They are in the middle of a three-game winning streak (and have won eight out of ten).
Following their showdown with the Hornets, the Celtics will remain in Boston to host the Dallas Mavericks on Friday.

The Celtics have been able to remain one of the elite teams in the NBA due to the play of Jaylen Brown.
The former Cal star has put an MVP-caliber season with averages of 29.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 48.2% from the field and 34.9% from three-point range in 54 games.

Tatum turned 28 on Tuesday.
