NASCAR fans traveling to some of the sport’s most iconic racetracks could see a major change beginning in 2027.
Airbnb announced on May 12 that it has entered a first-ever official lodging partnership with five NASCAR and Speedway Motorsports racetracks ahead of the 2027 NASCAR season. The partnership includes Bristol Motor Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Martinsville Speedway, North Wilkesboro Speedway, and Talladega Superspeedway.
According to Airbnb, listings near participating tracks will eventually be integrated directly into racetrack websites, giving fans easier access to accommodations during major race weekends.
The announcement marks one of the more unique partnerships NASCAR has unveiled in recent years because it focuses heavily on the fan travel experience rather than a traditional sponsorship tied to a race team or car.
Airbnb Partnership Targets NASCAR Race Weekend Experience
In its official announcement, Airbnb said the partnership is designed to help fans stay closer to the action while also supporting local communities that host NASCAR events throughout the season.
Many NASCAR weekends take place in smaller markets where hotel availability can become extremely limited during marquee events like the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway or Bristol Motor Speedway’s annual night race weekend.
Airbnb noted that many communities surrounding NASCAR venues have Airbnb listings available despite having limited traditional hotel infrastructure, making short-term rentals a growing part of the race weekend experience for traveling fans.
“Big events have been part of Airbnb’s DNA since day one, and there are few events more deeply woven into the fabric of American communities than NASCAR,” Adam Altfandary, Head of U.S. East Business at Airbnb, said in a statement.
NASCAR also emphasized the importance of improving the fan experience around race weekends.
“Our NASCAR racetracks sit at the center of some of the most passionate fan experiences in sports because they are deeply rooted in the culture and communities they call home,” T.R. Sapienza, NASCAR Vice President of Track Sales, said in a statement.
Talladega, Bristol Among Tracks Included in New Deal
The partnership includes several of NASCAR’s most recognizable and historic venues across both NASCAR-owned and Speedway Motorsports-owned properties.
Talladega Superspeedway remains one of the sport’s largest race weekend destinations each season, while Darlington Raceway hosts the historic Southern 500 over Labor Day weekend annually.
North Wilkesboro Speedway has also become one of NASCAR’s hottest tickets since returning to the Cup Series schedule in recent years through the revival of the NASCAR All-Star Race.
Meanwhile, Bristol Motor Speedway and Martinsville Speedway continue to rank among the most iconic short tracks in NASCAR.
According to Airbnb, participating racetracks and the company will continue working together ahead of the 2027 season on ways to support hosts and expand travel options for NASCAR fans attending events at the five venues.
Airbnb said listings connected to participating tracks are expected to become available directly through racetrack websites before the start of the 2027 NASCAR season.
