NASCAR: Bristol Motor Speedway Post-Inspection Reveal Leaves Triple Truck Bonus Unclear

Post-race inspection in the NASCAR Bristol Motor Speedway garage wrapped up with no issues found, but one key question remained. The result did not settle the status of the Triple Truck Challenge bonus. Officials cleared every truck that competed in Friday night’s race. This confirmed the finishing order and highlighted a rule that influenced the result.

The inspection report came shortly after midnight. Teams waited in the garage as officials completed checks. Once the results became official, attention quickly shifted away from penalties and toward the bonus system. The situation left fans and teams looking for a clear explanation.

NASCAR Bristol Motor Speedway Inspection Confirms Race Result

Veteran reporter Claire B. Lang reported that inspectors found “no issues” during post-race checks. That confirmed the win for Christopher Bell in the No. 62 Halmar Friesen Racing Toyota. Bell secured the victory after a late charge. He passed Christian Eckes with 62 laps to go and held off Chandler Smith at the finish. The margin was 0.330 seconds.

Bell led 63 laps during the race. The win also ended a three-race Bristol streak for Front Row Motorsports. The inspection result confirmed that all trucks met technical rules. No penalties changed the final order. The official finish stood as recorded on track.

Rules: Explain Why the Bonus was Not Awarded

Despite the clean inspection, no Triple Truck Challenge bonus went to the race winner. The rulebook for the 2026 season explains why. The challenge includes three races at Darlington Raceway, Rockingham Speedway, and Bristol. Each race offers a $50,000 bonus. Drivers can earn more by winning multiple events.

Eligibility requires drivers to declare for Truck Series points. Bell did not meet that condition. He competes full-time in the Cup Series and did not declare Truck points. Because of that, NASCAR confirmed that no bonus would be awarded.

As stated in the rule, “A Triple Truck Challenge winner was not awarded because the race winner is not declared for series points.” The money remains unclaimed for this event.

Corey Heim’s Sweep Hopes End at Bristol

The outcome also affected Corey Heim. Heim entered the race with a chance to complete a sweep of the challenge. He had already earned $50,000 at Darlington and $100,000 at Rockingham. A win at Bristol would have secured a larger payout.

Heim started 12th and ran near the front early. His race ended after a crash on Lap 180 following contact with Eckes in Turn 1. Heim finished 30th. That result ended his chance at the full bonus.

With inspection complete and rules applied, the Bristol event closed without a payout. Bell’s win counts in the record books as his eighth Truck Series victory. The bonus situation now shifts focus back to the rest of the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series season. Drivers like Smith and Kaden Honeycutt will continue to compete for points as the schedule moves forward.
