Multiple grassfires burning near Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs Airport

Multiple fires are burning east of Peterson Space Force Base and Colorado Springs Airport, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department.

At least 10 Colorado Springs fire units and units from two other departments, Ellicott Fire Protection District and Cheyenne Mountain Fire & Emergency Services, were battling at least four fires in the area of Marksheffel and Drennen roads, CSFD reported at 4:49 p.m. on X.

CSFD reported at 5:24 p.m. the fires were continuing to spread but did not say how big the fires were.
