On Wednesday, the Philadelphia Phillies lost to the San Francisco Giants (in California) by a score of 5-0.

They lost two out of three in the series, and will now return home to host the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday.

In addition to their game against the Giants (on Wednesday), the Phillies also announced that they had made a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Phillies wrote (via X): “The Phillies have acquired outfielder Steward Berroa from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for cash considerations and optioned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. To make room for Berroa on the 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher Yoniel Curet was designated for assignment.”

Berroa is coming off a season where he appeared in two games for Milwaukee.

Over 30 career games with the Blue Jays and Brewers, Berroa is batting .167 with one RBI, seven runs and seven stolen bases.

The Phillies are currently 6-6 in their first 12 games, which has them as the fourth-place team in the National League East.

They are coming off a year where they lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS.
