Cole pitched 5.2 innings, allowing three hits and three earned runs with three strikeouts.

Here’s what people were saying about his performance:

@SarahAnnRhoades: “Gerrit Cole is nothing more than a number 4 starter now. Can’t throw harder than 94-95 anymore. Won’t get it done.”

@ChickenParmLou: “Gerrit Cole rehabbing in Game 2 of Somerset’s DH this afternoon – 5.2 IP (60 pitches), 3 R, 3 H, 3 K. 2 of the 3 hits were HR, but he retired 11 in a row to start. Possible he’s back around 5/15? His next start would be Tuesday, then next Sunday, which will be 80-90 pitches.”
