Here’s what people were saying about Volpe on social media:

@cai_rogers7: “This is not an Anti-Volpe post, but more of an informative one Anthony Volpe botches a fairly easy groundball at SS and is charged with an error”

@NYY_Mic: “Fairly easy? This a routine play in little league. Guys make errors and I think Volpe could still help the Yankees in some way but I have no desire to see him play SS for them again when Cabby or Lombard are options. SS is a defense first position and Volpe is shaky at best”

@JYankees: “Time for 2b”

@C_RichDustLords: “Trade him for an bullpen arm”

@NY647764: “we gotta end the volpe at SS experiment he’s clearly in his own head here”

@whiling15: “Anthony #Volpe has played poorly in the minors including the rehab he had. He does have a sac fly tonight but looks lost as a whole. You have to wonder how he will recover from the injury.”
