The Miami Heat are willing to offer any of their players except for Bam Adebayo this summer with the hopes of improving to title contention. Adebayo has been named in reports as the only “untouchable” player that Pat Riley will not include in trade offers for Giannis Antetokounmpo and other names on the trade market this summer. Last night’s play-in elimination loss to the Charlotte Hornets confirmed they’ll miss the playoffs.
Clutch Points’ Brett Siegel revealed Adebayo is the only exclusion from Miami’s goal of trading anyone else for the right pieces:
“Pat Riley and this front office will be willing to give the Bucks anything they want outside of Adebayo, much like they were willing to do in February. The only difference now is that in addition to centering their package around Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, and Jaime Jaquez Jr., Miami can also add three legitimate first-round picks and three pick swaps.”
The Heat are now a much stronger player on the trade market to acquire Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks. Miami fans are hoping to jump ahead in the draft since they will now have a lottery pick. Milwaukee could accept a couple of young prospects and multiple first round picks to send Giannis to one of his more ideal scenarios.
Heat Lineup Contends If They Get Giannis
The pitched trade of the most realistic offer for Antetokounmpo would see Miami giving up the trio of Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware and Jaime Jaquez Jr. to sacrifice some of their depth. However, the Heat will still have talented players around Giannis and Adebayo.
Names like Andrew Wiggins, Davion Mitchell and Norman Powell could round out the starting lineup since they would remain on the roster after the proposed trade package. Pelle Larsson, Nikola Jovic, and a few other role players give the Heat a solid bench.
Other free agent names could join a desired location in Miami and a chance to contend for a title in a bench role. Riley has his best chance to land a superstar after a couple of failed chases over the past few seasons. Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard, and other names on the trade market will give the Heat multiple options to acquire.
Would Giannis Want To Join Miami Heat?
Antetokounmpo will have some way in his next team, despite the Bucks holding the power of having to accept or deny trade offers. The current contract sees Giannis only guaranteed for one more season until he can opt out to enter free agency.
Multiple reports have confirmed the New York Knicks were Antetokounmpo’s top choice when a trade was discussed last summer. However, Giannis will likely have to welcome other options if on the trade block since the Knicks hold limited trade assets.
Miami has been named in the past by Antetokounmpo as a franchise he respects and a location that he’s interested by. Head coach Erik Spoelstra has eliminated Giannis multiple times from lower seeds in the playoffs. The Heat have a lot of things working in their favor right now to land Antetokounmpo this summer.
