Thanks to the Buffaloes’ designation in the First Four round, it’s not quite good enough for that elusive Sweet 16 berth, but that’s a problem for another day. Sunday, specifically, as the Buffs put on a show on Friday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, defeating Florida 102-100 in a wild and high-scoring battle on Friday afternoon.
CU (26-10) will face second-seeded Marquette on Sunday with a berth in the Sweet 16 on the line.
KJ Simpson drained the winner, knocking down a baseline jumper with 1.7 seconds left to win it for the Buffs. Simpson finished with 23 points and Eddie Lampkin Jr. scored 21. CU finished 28-for-33 at the free throw line.
