Moving on from Raleigh’s hitless streak, the Mariners welcome back Bryce Miller as he starts Wednesday’s game against the Houston Astros. Despite being his first start of the season, the game also proves to be massively important for the Mariners future starting rotation plans. If Miller shows the special stuff he showcased in his rehab starts, Luis Castillo may move to the bullpen. While a piggy-back situation could occur, the Mariners may want to give Miller the reigns to be an excellent starter. Perhaps Castillo will be excellent out of the bullpen.

With the Mariners now over with Raleigh’s hitless streak, the team can move on to other issues to solve. However, the Mariners with back to back wins against the Astros shows that the upside of this roster. Even with injuries to the bullpen, the Mariners bullpen remains largely one of the better units in the MLB. Coming into tonight’s game, the Mariners ranked third in bullpen ERA.
