Man shot on CTA Red Line near Rate Field, police say

A man was injured after being shot on a CTA Red Line train in Armour Square Sunday night, Chicago police said.

The man, 35, was on a southbound Red Line train just before midnight when he got into an argument with another man, police said in a statement. The other man stepped off the train at the Sox/35th station in the 100 block of West 35th Street and fired shots, striking the 35-year-old once in the buttocks, police said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition. The gunman fled the scene and detectives are investigating.

The CTA didn’t immediately return requests for comment.
