Man sentenced to life in prison in fatal Denver shooting

A 48-year-old man was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison this week for the June 2022 shooting death of Raymond Herrera in Denver.

Man killed in Tuesday Aurora shooting

Phillip Gurule was found guilty by a jury Wednesday after two hours of deliberation, the Denver District Attorney’s Office said in a post on X.

Gurule was arrested after he shot and killed Herrera, 37, in an alley near West 13th Avenue on June 21, 2022.

Gurule was sentenced to live in prison without the possibility of parole, according to the district attorney’s office.
