Man facing attempted murder charge after Austin shooting

A man is facing felony charges after he was accused of shooting a man in Austin Monday afternoon, according to Chicago police.

Curtis Conner, 43, faces a count of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery, armed violence with a weapon and a violation of sex offender registration.

Conner is accused of causing “serious injury” to a 38-year-old man inside a home in the 5300 block of West Madison Street around 4:10 p.m. Monday, police said. He was arrested 20 minutes later in the same block.


He is due in court Thursday, police said.
