Man convicted of sex trafficking a teen girl in Lansing

A 40-year-old Chicago man was convicted of federal charges of sex trafficking a teen girl, authorities said on Friday.

Kennard Cameron was convicted Wednesday of sex trafficking a minor and conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking of a minor.

Cameron was accused of recruiting and enticing a 15-year-old girl to engage in commercial sex acts in 2023 in a motel in south suburban Lansing.

Authorities said Cameron photographed the girl wearing lingerie and in the nude. Cameron then posted the photos online and arranged for encounters with individuals who responded to the ads.

Cameron faces a 10-year to life sentence in federal prison, authorities said.
