Man charged with shooting at cops in South Chicago

A man is accused of shooting at Chicago police officers and a woman earlier this week in South Chicago on the South Side.

Maurice Reddick, of Chicago, faces several felony charges, including attempted first degree murder, aggravated battery to a peace officer and possession of a firearm as a repeat felon, police said.

Reddick, 34, was arrested in the 8600 block of South Marquette Avenue around 9:25 p.m. Tuesday after he allegedly fired at officers responding to the area for shots fired less than an hour earlier, police said. He also allegedly shot at a 33-year-old woman.


Reddick was slated to appear in court Friday.
