Man arrested in fatal shooting at Aurora storage unit complex

A man is dead and another man is in custody after a shooting Wednesday at an Aurora storage unit complex.

Aurora officers about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday were responding to an unrelated investigation at a storage unit in the 14700 block of East 40th Avenue when a manager called 911 to report a man had said he just shot someone, according to an Aurora Police Department news release.

The officers searched the complex and found a 26-year-old Aurora man with an apparent gunshot wound who died at the scene. Officers detained the suspected shooter, identified as Joaquin Enrique Cabral-Favela, 24, of Denver, on a charge of second-degree murder.

Investigators also found a firearm at the scene.
