Man accused of fatally shooting woman at Lansing Walmart

A man was charged with fatally shooting a 66-year-old woman Saturday afternoon at a Walmart in south suburban Lansing.

Adebowale Oyelekan, 40, was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 66-year-old Victoria Olson of Thornton, Lansing police said.

Officers found Olson shot multiple times around 1:45 p.m. Saturday at a Walmart located at 17625 Torrence Avenue, authorities said.

She was taken to a hospital in Indiana where she was pronounced dead.

The Lake County, Ind. coroner’s office ruled her death a homicide.

Oyelekan, of Lansing, was expected to appear in court in Markham, officials said.

No further information was immediately available.
