Hannah Green won the JM Eagle LA Championship on Sunday after making a massive six stroke comeback on the back nine. She played in a playoff against Sei Young Kim and Jin Hee Im at El Caballero Country Club.
This is Green’s fourth win of the season as well as her eighth win on the LPGA Tour.
Green finished Sunday’s round shooting a four-under 68 to tie for the lead. In the playoff, she made a twelve foot putt to seal the win.
She said, “I felt like I have a lot of moments where I do make lots of clutch putts, so I kind of felt somewhat confident. If I had maybe a six-footer, the putts that you expect to make, I probably would’ve felt more nervous putting.”
Green’s Continued Success at the JM Eagle

Green also won this event in 2023 and 2024; however, those events were at Wilshire Country Club.
The JM Eagle LA Championship also saw an increased prize pool this year. It was originally supposed to be $3.75 million prize pool. Yet, JM Eagle chairman and CEO Walter Wang announced in round three that he increased the prize pool to $4.75 million effective immediately.
The changes make the JM Eagle LA Championship the highest purse on the LPGA Tour this year outside of the major championships. Green took home $712,500 as the winner this week.
Green started the final round one-over par on the front nine, but shot a 31 on the back including four straight birdies from 13 to 16. She thought she was completely out of the tournament.
Green said, “I honestly didn’t think I was in the tournament still. I was just like, go for as many pins as possible and got on a nice stretch there. I’m just fortunate enough that I at least got into the playoff.”
Because of her success this season, Green feels extremely confident going into the Chevron Championship at Memorial Park, the first woman’s major of 2026.
She said, “[It’s] the most confident I have been in my own game. I’m really looking forward to it. It is going to be hard, traveling [Sunday night on a redeye], getting in [Monday], my head will probably be quite big still.”
A win at the Chevron would be her second major of her career. She won the Woman’s PGA Championship in 2019.
Tough Results for Sei Young Kim at the JM Eagle
GettySei Young Kim lost to Hannah Green in the playoff to end the tournament.
Kim dominated the tournament until the back nine on Sunday. She shot back to back 65s to open up the week. Kim began Saturday on fire, creating an eight stroke lead in the process. However, she dropped four straight strokes on the back nine that day to partially close the gap.
On the eleventh hole on Sunday, Kim had a five stroke lead. However, a bogey to close the round let Green and Im to force a playoff.
Kim said, “Just a little disappointed because I had a good chance for the win. But [Green] plays well. Strong finish back nine.”
