UPDATE: The deal is official.

The Dodgers wrote (via X): “The Dodgers acquired LHP Eric Lauer from the Toronto Blue Jays for cash considerations. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers transferred RHP Brusdar Graterol to the 60-day injured list.”

UPDATE: Woo added more details.

She wrote: “Correcting the language: Dodgers are acquiring Eric Lauer, but the process is still being configured.”

Also on Sunday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reported the news that the Dodgers are acquiring Eric Lauer.

He went 1-5 with a 6.69 ERA in eight games for the Toronto Blue Jays this season.

Woo wrote: “The Dodgers are signing Eric Lauer, sources tell The Athletic. Lauer, who played a big part in the Blue Jays playoff run, was DFA’d by Toronto last week. Pitched 8 games, made 6 starts. Gives Dodgers some options with their pitching currently relatively thin.”

Lauer was picked in the first round of the 2016 MLB Draft.

He spent the first two seasons of his career with the San Diego Padres.

After the Padres, the 30-year-old had his longest stint (four seasons) with the Milwaukee Brewers.

He had been with the Blue Jays for the last two seasons.

Over 156 career games, Lauer has gone 46-44 with a 4.26 ERA.

Despite his slow start to the 2026 season, he could be a good (low-risk) addition to the Dodgers.

Jack Harris of The California Post wrote: “The Dodgers are acquiring left-handed pitcher Eric Lauer, per source, after he was DFA’d by the Toronto Blue Jays last week Veteran lefty who can provide some depth amid the team’s recent wave of pitching injuries”
