Seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton will soon be starting his second season with Ferrari. While the 2025 season felt more like a brutal crash-and-burn campaign for Lewis Hamilton, with many already speculating that the 41-year-old might be heading toward Formula 1 retirement, the SF-26 now appears to have reignited fresh belief inside the Brit.
Hamilton has since reflected on his first season with Italian powerhouse Scuderia Ferrari in a post on the professional social network LinkedIn — looking back with honesty, grit, and a clear racer’s focus on the road ahead.
Lewis Hamilton Says Willingness to Learn Was Biggest Advantage
In his article, Hamilton writes, among other things, “One year ago, I began a new chapter with Scuderia Ferrari HP. It was a massive leap and with that comes a lot of learning.” And Hamilton had to learn a lot. Not only about a new car and team. He had to learn to adapt. He had to learn to work with a race engineer he never really connected with.
He added, “Whether you’re switching teams in F1 or pivoting in your own career, your willingness to learn will be your biggest advantage. Transitioning in this environment requires developing and redeveloping skills, like high-stakes collaboration and adaptability, while quickly picking up new ones to bridge the gap.”
Looking Forward to the 2026 Season
Hamilton didn’t just reflect on the 2025 season — he was already looking ahead to 2026.
“As we head into the season opener in Australia, I’m reflecting on how much the landscape of ‘work’ is changing for all of us. Technology and AI are reshaping our industries, and while that can feel fast, it’s also a massive opportunity to future-proof how we lead and create. Leadership can depend on how quickly you adapt to changes and are willing to evolve. That’s what I did in my first year. I saw opportunities to learn and I took them.”
By linking elite sport with the rapid evolution of today’s working world, Lewis delivers a timely insight: success in an AI-shaped era depends above all on a mindset of constant learning and adaptation. With the new F1 season on the horizon, he frames ongoing growth as the decisive competitive advantage.
However, the seven-time world champion also gives his readers a crucial hint: “My advice? Stay curious. Don’t just focus on the traditional routes. Invest in the skills that make you human and the tools that make you faster. Your path is yours to create. Let’s make this season one to remember. Andiamo.”
One thing is clear: Lewis Hamilton is ready to return to Formula 1’s biggest stage in the 2026 season. Moving on from disappointing results, he is aiming for a comeback — back to podium finishes and the sport’s greatest successes.
He recently made that clear on Instagram, where he posted a training video with the caption: “This is the most I’ve ever trained between seasons. I’m pushing hard every day to show up stronger than ever this year. With lifting, cardio, flexibility and strength training, everything is about progress and endurance and going further than the day before. See you soon, Melbourne.”
The new season begins on March 8, 2026, with the opening race in Melbourne.
