A hit-and-run in Lakewood Friday night left one pedestrian dead and police are searching for the car involved.
Lakewood police officers responded to multiple reports of a car hitting a pedestrian at the intersection of Kipling Street and West 23rd Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Friday, according to a statement from the department.
The pedestrian died and the driver fled the scene.
Officers are searching for the car involved — a black 2014 Chevy Camero with heavy front-end damage, a broken windshield and a missing headlight, according to a Saturday medina alert.
The car was last seen headed west down West 23rd Avenue.
No additional information was available about the victim, crash or suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
