Lakers’ Bronny James Gets Shout Out from Warriors Star: ‘Haters, Keep Hating’

Second-year guard Bronny James has provided the Los Angeles Lakers with valuable minutes in the ongoing playoff series against the Houston Rockets.

Through four games, Bronny has been a +7 on the floor in 32 overall minutes, while shooting 50% from the field and 40% from three. He hasn’t played only garbage-time minutes — JJ Redick has entrusted him at the end of second quarters and early in fourth quarters with the games in the balance.

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green is thrilled to see Bronny get some valuable playoff experience.

“Shout out to Bronny,” Green said on the “Draymond Green Show” podcast.

Bronny James Takes Strides

“So much criticism for him throughout his career. He’s been the 13th or 15th man all year and he’s playing great playoff minutes,” Green continued.

“He’s playing great playoff basketball. Gotta give him a lot of credit. How dope is it to see a man and his son playing in a playoff series in the NBA? That’s so fire!

“All the haters, keep hating. I love to see it.”

LeBron James Proud of his Son

LeBron James — the man who has played more playoff games (296) than anyone in NBA history — knows what it’s like to get postseason reps under the belt. After Bronny made a few crucial plays in the Game 3 victory against the Rockets, James explained why his son had cemented himself as an NBA caliber player.

“The amount of confidence that a young kid in our league can get from a postseason game is like…you will never get nervous from a regular season moment ever again when you play meaningful postseason games and postseason minutes,” James said.

“And he’s done that, and I think that’s just pretty cool for his career, for his confidence. I mean, s–t, I’ve done enough.”

James called out the Rockets for disrespecting Bronny by going under screens.

“He also made a three when they tried to disrespect him and go under in the pick-and-roll. He gave us great minutes,” James said of Bronny.

With Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves sidelined, Bronny has received looks he may not have otherwise. JJ Redick feels Bronny has made the most of his opportunity.

“He has just gotten a lot better defensively,” Redick said of Bronny.

“His physicality’s been really good. His execution’s been really good and excited for him and just we got to continue to build him up. He’s obviously really important right now.”
