NBA veteran and Houston Rockets star forward Kevin Durant got into an explosive argument with a fan during a 111â104 win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night. The broadcast crew and fans in the stands caught several profanity-filled exchanges during the game.
Take a listen for yourself. NSFW warning if youâre listening in public.
Durant can be heard yelling multiple times. In the first half, he appears to shout, âYou can suck my (expletive), my boy. Youâre a grown man. Grown man on my (expletive) all night,â Durant said between free-throw attempts.
Later in the game, Durant went at it again.
âWho the (expletive) you talking to, (expletive),â Durant can be heard saying. âWhat would you do out here? Fat (expletive), you canât do (expletive). Watch your (expletive) mouth.â
The fan in the video appears to be wearing a Durant jersey.
Durant backed up the fireworks with another dominant night on the floor, pouring in 32 points to lead Houston to the road win. He was efficient and in control, adding seven rebounds and three assists in 40 turnover-free minutes. Durant scored 18 points before halftime, then helped break the game open in the third quarter as the Rockets surged ahead, continuing his history of tormenting Detroit.
Kevin Durant Through the Years
GettyKevin Durant of the Houston Rockets has proven to be one of the most consistent scoring players in NBA history, even in his 18th season.
Durant going back and forth with fans isnât exactly new. Moments like Friday night are just the latest chapter in his long, sometimes messy relationship with the crowd.
While plenty of stars ignore hecklers, Durant has never been wired that way. Heâs always been willing to fire back, whether itâs chirping during a game or clapping back online.
From Oklahoma City to Golden State, Brooklyn, Phoenix, and now Houston, cameras have regularly caught him jawing with courtside fans who push things too far.
That same blunt energy shows up on social media. Durant is one of the NBAâs most active stars on X and Instagram, often replying directly to fans, critics, and even media members. It all peaked a few years ago when he admitted to using burner accounts to argue basketball and defend himself online.
Itâs unclear whether Durant will face any discipline from the NBA for his latest controversial interaction with a fan.

Fridayâs win over the Eastern Conference-leading Pistons (32â11) improved the Rockets to 27â16 on the season, good for fourth place in the Western Conference standings. They are 8.5 games behind the first-place and defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder (37â9).
Houston has won four of its last five games, with Durant scoring 68 points over his last two outings.
The Rockets are hoping the addition of Durant will give them an extra boost toward a deeper postseason run this season.
Houston is coming off a 52â30 campaign a year ago, finishing second in the Western Conference during the regular season before losing to the seventh-seeded Warriors in a seven-game first-round playoff series.
The Rockets now have a few days off before hosting the 18â25 Memphis Grizzlies.
