New Orleans Saints fans will be putting the pressure on head coach Kellen Moore to take the team to the next level in 2026.
After finishing last in the NFC South, Moore’s outlook with fans looks pretty bleak.
A recent fan survey conducted by the folks at Covers.com looked at the 2026 NFL Head Coach Confidence Rankings. Unfortunately for Moore, Saints fans don’t have much trust in their team’s current leader.
The study showed Moore ranking 21st in the NFL with a 6.05 confidence score. That puts him slightly above the Buffalo Bills’ Joe Brady, but well below the Baltimore Ravens’ Jesse Minter. Moreover, only 27.9% of the Saints fans surveyed indicated that they would like to see Moore remain at the team’s head coach.
In contrast, Mike Macdonald of the Seattle Seahawks topped the list with an 8.95 confidence score and 85.3% approval rating from Seattle fans. Mike Vrabel of the New England Patriots and Andy Reid of the Kansas City Chiefs rounded out the top three.
As for the bottom, well, Kellen Moore isn’t doing quite as bad. Zac Taylor of the Cincinnati Bengals came in 30th with a 4.58 confidence score and 15.5% approval rating. Todd Monken of the Cleveland Browns ranked 31st, with Aaron Glenn of the New York Jets ranked dead-last with a 4.33 confidence score and 16.3% approval rating.
Kellen Moore Not Really Coach Fans Want
Another interesting side to this study measured the coach NFL fans would like to see most for their team. Unsurprisingly, Reid topped the list with 14.58% of fans declaring they would like the veteran coach to join their team.
Macdonald was second with a 9.12% rating, with LA Rams’ Sean McVay rounding out the top three at 8.76%.
Meanwhile, Kellen Moore ranked 19th, with just a little over 1% of fans declaring they would like to see Moore leading their squad. It’s not shocking to see the Saints coach get little support at this point. He’s yet to lead New Orleans to a long playoff run. But Moore’s standing with fans could significantly change if the Saints have a good season in 2026.

Could Moore Be on Hot Seat?
So, a pertinent question to ask would be: Is Kellen Moore on the hot seat? That’s a firm no. Moore has just one season under his belt, and given the state of the team when he took over, it’s far too soon to say that he’s on the hot seat.
If Moore can lead the Saints to a respectable record, even if they miss the playoffs, the head coach should be in a pretty cool seat.
However, if the Saints somehow regress this upcoming season, concerns may grow, and the seat could get warmer. It’s unlikely, again, that Moore faces any pressure to step down this season. As long as the team continues to make progress, much like it did during the second half of last season, Moore should have plenty of slack moving forward.
Looking at the overall status of the NFC South, there’s a real chance the Saints can regain their foothold in the division and really challenge for a postseason berth.
