The Jacksonville Jaguars, like every team across the NFL, have been looking for ways to make improvements to their roster early on this offseason. Last week, that led them to Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo, who is a restricted free agent. While the Seahawks have the inside track when it comes to re-signing Bobo, the Jaguars turned some heads when they signed him to an offer sheet.
Seattle has five days to decide whether it wants to match Jacksonville’s offer or if it wants to let him walk in free agency. Right now, the odds are in the Jaguars’ favor that they will land Bobo, but according to one Seahawks insider, it isn’t exactly a sure bet that the team is simply going to let the underrated wideout leave in free agency.
Seahawks Could Match Jaguars’ Offer Sheet for Jake Bobo
Bobo didn’t get selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, but he was scooped up by the Seahawks, and he’s managed to stick around with them for the first three seasons of his career. During that time, Bobo has turned himself into a fan favorite, as he’s a willing blocker in the run game who also contributes on special teams and occasionally serves as a secondary wide receiver.
In 2025, Bobo didn’t make much of an impact as a wide receiver, as he caught just two passes for 20 yards in the 11 games he suited up for. He did have a huge touchdown in the NFC Championship Game that helped send Seattle to the Super Bowl, and as we all know, it eventually won a championship ring when all was said and done.
Initially, the Seahawks weren’t going to place a tender on Bobo, but at the last second, they placed the right-of-first-refusal tender on him. That gives Seattle the opportunity to match another team’s offer sheet if it agrees to a deal with Bobo. That’s the spot Jacksonville finds itself in, and according to reports, it doesn’t sound like it’s out of the question that the Seahawks will match the Jaguars’ offer sheet for Bobo.
“Coveted by other suitors for his versatility and special teams talent, placing a tender on Jake Bobo didn’t stop another team from signing him to an offer sheet. But while the price tag may seem prohibitive to match, don’t count the Seahawks out bringing him back,” Corbin K. Smith of Emerald City Spectrum wrote in a post on X.
Jaguars Must Be Prepared to Potentially Miss Out on Jake Bobo

The allure of Bobo isn’t too hard to see, as he’s a gritty player who will do the dirty work that many players aren’t too fond of. Beyond that, he still has room to grow as a wide receiver, so he could get some run in Jacksonville’s offense if he were to find his way to town. Ultimately, though, the ball is in Seattle’s court.
Considering how the Seahawks very nearly let Bobo hit unrestricted free agency by not tendering him, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see them let him leave. However, they did tender him for a reason, and it turns out it was a shrewd decision to do so. Seattle may decide retaining Bobo isn’t worth it, but it doesn’t sound like Jacksonville’s offer was enough to blow the team out of the water, making this situation worth keeping tabs on over the next few days.
