Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors will not play in the team’s primetime game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, March 7 (8:30 pm EST/5:30 pm PST) on ABC, as he remains on the team’s injury report.
Curry has been out since late January with the knee injury, and the latest update on the franchise star signals he will miss more time for the Warriors.

Curry will not be suiting up for Golden State’s Saturday night game against the Thunder, according to the latest NBA injury report.
Curry has already missed 12 consecutive games for the Warriors, and the team has gone 5-7 in the span during which he has been out with his current knee injury. While the team ended victorious against the Houston Rockets on Thursday night in an overtime thriller, it came without having the franchise star available.
He has a career record of 28-21 against Oklahoma City, including his famous ‘double-bang‘ game-winner against the Thunder back in 2016, but the two-time MVP won’t have the chance to get another win versus the team on Saturday.
Stephen Curry Injury Update: When Is The Star Set To Return?
According to the latest report and Curry injury update, the star player is set to be re-evaluated in a few days, per Anthony Slater of ESPN.
Curry has been dealing with what the insider described as ‘runner’s knee’ and what is officially diagnosed as a ‘right patellofemoral’ injury on the NBA’s injury report. He’s been facing the injury since January, and while he attempted to play through the pain earlier in the season, it’s now kept him out for more than five weeks.
“There’s no underlying structural issue that is of graver concern, but this is something he’s been dealing with for over a month now. It originally popped up in Minnesota during a workout the day that game (vs. Timberwolves) got postponed,” Slater said back in February. “He played through it a little bit…And then it started to bother him again.”
While Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com previously reported that the Warriors could potentially keep Curry out for a longer period in hopes of having him healthy for the Play-In Tournament and postseason in general, it appears that the 37-year-old wants to get back on the court as soon as possible.
In a message shared on X by Slater, he reported that Curry texted teammate Draymond Green that he hopes to make an injury return soon.
“Keep going. I know it’s tough, but promise you, I’m coming back,” the guard reportedly said.
As of now, there is no direct Curry injury return timeline. He was reported to be re-evaluated in ten days on March 1, but that came after some other setbacks in a potential return, as there was previously a hope that he would come back after the All-Star break.
In 39 games this season for the Warriors, Curry is averaging 27.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.1 steals on 46.8/39.1/93.1 shooting splits.
While he has already dealt with ankle and quadricep injuries this season, his current knee injury will keep him out for the longest stretch this season, with no return date yet set.

He has been dealing with a ‘mystery illness‘, but was seen working out earlier in the week. His ‘questionable’ status is the biggest upgrade for the Latvian, who has missed the team’s last six games.
Gary Payton II (ankle) is probable.
Jimmy Butler is out for the season with a torn ACL that he suffered in January, with no injury return timeline.
As for Oklahoma City, the defending champions have ruled out Jalen Williams (hamstring), Chet Holmgren (illness), Isaiah Hartenstein (calf), Alex Caruso (hip), Ajay Mitchell (ankle), Branden Carlson (back), and Thomas Sorber (knee) for the contest against the Warriors.
For now, the latest Curry injury update signals he’ll miss the Warriors’ next few games, as he’ll continue to sit for their upcoming contest against the Thunder on Saturday night.
