Indiana Fever Injury Report for Season Opener vs Dallas Wings

The Indiana Fever will open the 2026 WNBA season at home on Saturday against the Dallas Wings.

The game will feature the last four first overall picks in Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd. It’s also just the second-ever matchup between Clark and Bueckers in the WNBA.

Clark and Bueckers were unable to face each other more than once last year due to the Fever star’s injury woes. In their lone matchup on July 13, the Fever earned an easy 102-83 win at home inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The Indiana Fever didn’t have the best luck regarding injuries last year. Fans began calling them the “Hospital Fever” for the unfortunate number of injuries to their roster.

But despite all the health issues, the Fever were able to make the playoffs and even push the eventual WNBA champions Las Vegas Aces to the brink in the semifinals.

The Fever dealt with a few injuries to Lexie Hull, Aliyah Boston, Tyasha Harris and Justine Pissott during training camp and preseason. However, the official injury report are only listing two players for the Dallas Wings game: Monique Billings and Justin Pissott.

Billings is listed as questionable after suffering an ankle injury in the Fever’s final preseason game against the Nigeria National Team. She’ll likely get upgraded to available or downgraded to out before tip-off.

If Billings can’t get cleared to make her official Fever debut, Myisha Hines-Allen is expected to start and face her former team.

As for Pissott, she’s out because of coach’s decision. She is signed to a developmental player contract, which limits her appearances in the regular season to just 12 games.

After playing in just 13 games last season, Caitlin Clark is feeling healthy heading into her third year in the WNBA. Clark told Athlon Sports’ Kyle Wood that she’s looking forward to the first game of the season. She also gained a new perspective after sitting out the majority of last year.

“I feel really good going into this year,” Clark said. “Had three preseason games and then getting ready for tip-off this Saturday. So I think kind of just having a renewed perspective on the game. When you watch from the sidelines, it isn’t always the most fun, but you learn a lot about yourself, you learn a lot about being a good leader, being a good teammate.”

The Fever star added, “But obviously more than anything, I’m just super excited to put the jersey back on and be able to run around out there and play with my teammates and expect the crowds this weekend to be really good and throughout the year, as well.”
