Illenium, Colorado’s record-smashing EDM icon, is headlining Red Rocks

Denver-based DJ and producer Illenium will headline Red Rocks Amphitheatre on May 14, following a 2023 gig at Empower Field at Mile High that represented the biggest show ever by a Colorado artist at a Colorado venue.

Illenium, a.k.a. 33-year-old Downers Grove, Ill., native Nick Miller, has been skyrocketing in recent years thanks to collaborations with and remixes of Lana Del Rey, the Chainsmokers, Said the Sky, Travis Barker and others. His “Trilogy: Colorado” concert at Empower Field on June 17, 2023, was also the largest EDM headliner event in U.S. history, according to Billboard.

“The next largest venue on my (fall) tour is probably 25,000 capacity,” the platinum-certified artist told The Denver Post last year. “Most of the venues are like 8,000 to 15,000, and I think in Chicago I’m playing a soccer stadium.”

While Empower Field has a capacity of roughly 76,000, Red Rocks is tiny by comparison, with a mere 9,545. Ilenium’s newly announced May 14 concert there will likely sell out instantly — as has been the frustration of music fans in recent weeks as shows have gone on sale there.

Tickets for the all-ages concert are $70-$130 plus service charges, via axs.com. A pre-sale (with details forthcoming) begins at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, followed by a general on-sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 21.
