The crash occurred between Colo. 16/Mesa Ridge Parkway and exit 135 for South Academy Boulevard in Fountain just after 7 p.m., according to the agency and the Colorado State Patrol.

At least one person was taken to a local hospital and an extended closure is expected, said Trooper Gabriel Moltrer. The number of vehicles involved in the crash was not immediately available.
