A Look at the Top Pairings
GettyHideki Matsuyama is looking for his 12th PGA Tour victory.
Sahith Theegala, Michael Brennan, and Mackenzie Hughes make up the first featured group that broadcasters will cover, and they tee off at 11:51 a.m. ET. The second will be Scottie Scheffler, Kevin Roy, and Stephan Jaeger, with a tee time of 12:02 p.m. ET.
The marquee group has not been officially announced, but it will most likely include leader Matsuyama. The Japanese player will tee off with Nicolai Hojgaard and Maverick McNealy at 12:57 p.m. ET.
Matsuyama took the lead in the tournament on Saturday after shooting a third-round 68. He replaced his compatriot, Hisatsune, at the top of the leaderboard, who had carded a spectacular 63 on Friday but was unable to shoot below 70 the following day.
Saturday’s best score (65) was carded by Hojgaard, McNealy, and Thorbjornsen, who climbed eight, eight, and 13 places on the leaderboard, respectively.
Other interesting pairings that are sure to receive screen time during the coverage will be Si Woo Kim, Ryo Hisatsune, and Michael Thorbjornsen (tee time at 12:46 p.m. ET); and Jake Knapp, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Akshay Bhatia (tee time at 12:35 p.m. ET). All of these players are within two strokes of first place.
The group of players vying for the title includes the aforementioned World No. 1 Scheffler, who is joined by Viktor Hovland, Chris Gotterup, and Min Woo Lee, among others.
