Ten people were arrested at this year’s Lollapalooza, and 67 attendees were taken to nearby hospitals over the course of the four-day music festival that draws tens of thousands to Grant Park each summer, city officials said Monday.
That’s fewer arrests and more ambulance trips compared to last year’s festival, according to figures from Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications.
Twelve people were arrested last year for a range of charges: theft, trespassing, reckless conduct and drug-related offenses. Forty-two people were hospitalized last year, which was the lowest recorded number in at least six years, officials said at the time.
At this year’s festival, the arrests were nearly evenly split across Thursday, Friday and Saturday. No one was arrested on Sunday, according to OEMC. The details of the arrests have yet to be released.
Over one-third of the hospital transports — 22 — happened on Friday. The fewest happened on Sunday, with only 11 people picked up by ambulances, OEMC reported.
A representative for Lollapalooza did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
