Golden State Warriors Announce Key Player Ruled Out For Spurs Game

On Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors will play the San Antonio Spurs (at home) in San Francisco.

The Warriors most recently lost to the Denver Nuggets (in Colorado) by a score of 116-93.

De’Anthony Melton finished with one rebound, three assists and two steals while shooting 0/5 from the field in 25 minutes of playing time.

For Wednesday’s game, the Warriors will be without Melton, as he has been ruled out on the injury report.

Underdog NBA wrote: “De’Anthony Melton (thumb) listed out for Wednesday.”

Melton is having a productive year for Golden State.

He is averaging 12.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 41.0% from the field and 28.4% from three-point range in 43 games.

That said, Melton has struggled as of late.

Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area wrote (on March 29): “De’Anthony Melton had four 20-point games in March, but also two zero-point games while shooting 39% from the field and 25% from 3 for the month

Great guy, great value on his contract. Looks uncomfortable and unconfident shooting right now”

Melton was the 46th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Prior to Golden State, he had stints with the Memphis Grizzlies, Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns over eight seasons.

His career averages are 9.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 41.0% from the field and 35.8% from three-point range in 399 games.

Golden State Ahead Of San Antonio Showdown

The Warriors are currently the tenth seed in the Western Conference with a 36-39 record in 75 games.

They have won four out of their last ten games (and are 21-15 at home).

After the Spurs, the Warriors will remain at home to play the Cleveland Cavaliers (on Thursday).

The Warriors are coming off a year where they lost in the second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.

They last won a title in 2022.
