The New York Giants are officially underway in training camp to start off the 2026 NFL season. With training camp officially beginning, the era of new head coach John Harbaugh has begun.
Harbaugh was a blockbuster coaching hire for the Giants this offseason. For a franchise badly looking to find stability and trying to build a championship contending mentality, there wasn’t a better man for the job.
Over the years, Harbaugh has been one of the NFL’s best head coaches with the Baltimore Ravens. Now, he’ll look to turn the New York franchise around.
While Harbaugh is a new face for the Giants, the team also brought in and old face this offseason. Odell Beckham Jr. was signed to help fix some of the wide receiver issues that were apparent last season. He’s still fighting to make the roster, but fans are excited to have him back home.
Keeping that in mind, Harbaugh spoke out recently with a new update about Beckham’s status with the team.

In his latest update about Beckham, Harbaugh seemed to hint that Beckham has become a part of the team’s offensive plans.
“He’s working hard and he got some balls that came his way and he made some great plays,” Harbaugh said. “He addressed the team, and he did a great job with that. So, maybe that was the football gods right there. You never know.”
Perhaps Beckham’s return to New York will be more than just a cool story. He might actually be able to make an impact for Jaxson Draft and the Giants’ offense.
Beckham is currently fighting for a spot on the roster. New York has a very deep wide receiver room right now, led by Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton, and Darnell Mooney.
In order to make the roster, Beckham will need to beat out names like Calvin Austin III, Malachi Fields, and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Looking Back at Odell Beckham Jr.’s NFL Career Thus Far
Early on during his NFL career, Beckham was one of the most feared wide receivers in the league. After being drafted with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft out of LSU, Beckham became an instant star for the Giants.
He spent the first five years of his career in New York before heading to the Cleveland Browns. He played two and a half years there and has since played with the Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens, and Miami Dolphins.
Throughout his entire 10-year NFL career, Beckham has played in 119 total games. He has recorded 575 receptions for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns.
It will be interesting to see what the 2026 season has in store for the 33-year-old wide receiver. Hopefully, Beckham will be able to make the roster and have a special comeback story.
