One lane of southbound Interstate 25 has reopened after a diesel fuel tanker overturned Saturday morning in Douglas County at Castle Pines Parkway.
Colorado State Patrol officers responded to reports of a crash on southbound I-25 at 2:26 a.m., said CSP spokesperson Gabriel Moltrer.
The tanker truck was the only vehicle involved in the crash that shut down I-25 between exit 188 for Castle Pines Parkway and exit 187 for Happy Canyon Road, Moltrer said.
Northbound I-25 was not impacted by the crash.
The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, South Metro Fire Rescue announced on X.

A hazardous materials team is at the location of the crash, where approximately 2,500 gallons of diesel spilled from the tanker, which has an 8,000-gallon capacity, South Metro said.
The Colorado Department of Transportation recommends using Hess Road, Colorado 83 and Colorado 86 as a detour.
No ETA is available on when the rest of the highway will reopen as crews are actively investigating the incident, Moltrer said.
