Frankfort man arrested, accused of threatening Gov. Pritzker

A suburban man has been arrested for allegedly threatening Gov. JB Pritzker, according to Illinois State Police.

Timothy J. Shemitis, a 71-year-old Frankfort resident, faces a felony count of threatening a public official and one misdemeanor charge of harassment by telephone, police said.

Police were alerted of the voicemails left with Pritzker’s office March 3, and a warrant was issued a week later, police said. Shemitis was arrested Wednesday, according to court records.
