Chicago police are asking for the public’s help in identifying four people possibly linked to the bludgeoning of a 25-year-old man who died after a fight in a bar in Avondale last month.
Alexander C. Kazanowski, 25, was found unresponsive on the ground outside at 3942 W. Belmont Ave., with head injuries about 3:20 a.m. on March 24, Chicago police said.
Detectives learned that Kazanowski earlier had been “forcibly removed” from the Tune Up Bar, 3910 W. Belmont Ave., after a fight there, according to a police report.
He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition. Kazanowski, of the 4900 block of West Nelson Avenue, was later pronounced dead at 3:31 p.m., March 28, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
An autopsy on March 29 determined Kazanowski died of blunt head trauma from an assault, and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.
