Per multiple sources, including Ken Rosenthal at The Athletic, the Baltimore Orioles are signing reliever Lou Trivino to an MLB contract.
Trivino, 35, spent his 2025 season with three MLB teams (Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, and Philadelphia Phillies). Lou Trivino pitched with the New York Yankees in 2022 and was actually very effective in pinstripes.

Lou Trivino Lands with Baltimore Orioles
Many Yankees fans may remember Lou Trivino’s time with the club in 2022 including a deep playoff run (ALCS), where Trivino was used as one of the team’s high-leverage relievers.
Before joining the Yankees in 2022, Trivino had spent five seasons with the (then) Oakland Athletics.
Over 21.2 total regular-season innings with the Yankees, Trivino had an ERA of 1.66 with 22 strikeouts. However, he was not brought back to New York after that season and ended up having to miss all of 2023 and 2024 due to injury. He made four appearances out of the Yankees bullpen in the 2022 MLB playoffs and gave up no earned runs over 3.2 total innings pitched.
The 34-year-old out of Green Lane, PA, now gets another chance in MLB, this time with another American League East squad, the Orioles.
“Lou Trivino will provide bullpen help for the Orioles. A 6-year MLB veteran with 3.87 ERA in 332 career appearances. Spent 2025 with Giants, Dodgers, Phillies (3.97 ERA in 47 games). Recently opted out of deal with Phils. Had 2.77 ERA in 10 games for Triple-A Lehigh Valley”
“Lou Trivino, 34, exercised the May 1 opt out of his minors deal with the Phillies. In Triple-A this year, he struck out 20 of 56 batters faced while issuing four walks. He allowed four earned runs in 13 innings.”

All things considered, Lou Trivino has carved out a solid MLB career to this point. The tall right-handed reliever features a funky delivery from a side angle that can be deceptive for opposing hitters.
Over 332+ total innings and 332 games pitched, Trivino holds a career ERA of 3.87 with 336 career strikeouts. The Orioles need all the pitching help they can get right now to keep up with the Yankees in the AL East.
His largest body of work in 2025 came with the Los Angeles Dodgers, where Trivino logged 26+ innings and posted a 3.76 ERA. He never made it to the postseason with the Dodgers, but was a quality arm for the summer months to help bridge the gap between August and October.
Trivino has been effective enough to earn himself another MLB gig. The financials of his MLB deal are unknown at this moment.
