Former Giants Champion Calls Out Abdul Carter for Recent Post

As OTAs wrap up, there appears to be a rift forming within the New York Giants young core. Following a recent post from Abdul Carter about Jaxson Dart, one former player took aim at the promising defensive prospect.

Over the weekend, the Giants QB was seen introducing President Donald Trump at a rally. Carter took to X/Twitter to share his feelings on the matter, letting it be known he did not approve of who Dart was aligning himself with.

In the midst of this discourse, longtime Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes decided to chime in with his thoughts. He sounded off on Carter for attempting to alienate a teammate because of the political candidates he supports.

Tynes spent the majority of his career with the Giants after coming over from the Kansas City Chiefs in 2007. He made over 120 field goals across six seasons with the franchise while also helping them win a pair of Super Bowls.

Giants Veteran Comes to the Defense of QB Jaxson Dart

Since making his appearance at the latest Trump rally, Dart has faced a sizable amount of backlash online. While many have set their sights on the Giants’ QB, one of his teammates has stepped up and tried to defend him.

Early Saturday morning, veteran offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor joined the discourse around Dart. He responded to a beat writer who was also displeased to see Dart at such an event.

Heading into what will be his third year with the Giants, Eluemunor has built a strong bond with Dart. He has spoken highly of him on numerous occasions, and continues to support the former first-round pick on and off the field.

Eluemunor and Dart’s relationship is so strong that the OL cited that Dart was a major reason he decided to re-sign with the Giants in free agency this offseason.

Giants QB Jaxson Dart Urged to Keep His Focus on Football

The 2026 season will be a big one for Dart, as it’ll be his first full campaign under center for the Giants. As he looks to become ‘the guy’ for New York, one analyst wants to see him zero in more when it comes to football.

While on ‘WFAN Sports Radio’ on May 22nd, Craig Carton reacted to Dart stepping out to introduce President Trump at his latest rally. He urged the Giants QB to focus more on solidifying himself as a rising star in the NFL before growing his status as a celebrity.

“Jaxson Dart is gonna have to learn how to say no at some point,” Carton said. “Cause he is living the life of a guy that has already accomplished a lot in the NFL…And I’m telling you, that is great while it’s great. But if you come out of the gate 1-3 and you’ve got seven picks and two touchdowns, it’s going to backfire on ya.”

Dart seems committed to taking a step forward in year two, recently reflecting on his physical improvements in the offseason. Only time will tell if the outside noise becomes too much of a distraction for the Giants’ cornerstone prospect.
