Former Miami Dolphins starter Benito Jones is still searching for his next NFL opportunity. Jones could potentially find it in the NFC East.
Jones officially visited the New York Giants on Tuesday according to the NFL’s official transaction wire. The defensive tackle saw the Giants just two days ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Most notably, though, the Giants hosted Jones a few days after the team sent veteran defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals for the No. 10 overall pick.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter also reported Jones’s visit to New York on X Tuesday evening.
Jones made 23 starts for the Dolphins from 2024-25. That was his second stint with the team.
The defensive lineman joined Miami as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He returned to the Dolphins in 2024 after a couple years with the Detroit Lions.
In 14 games last season, which included eight starts, he posted 15 combined tackles, along with two tackles for loss. He also had one sack, one pass defense and one quarterback hit.
Jones had 24 combined tackles, including a career-best four tackles for loss in 17 games during 2024. He tied a career high with 15 starts in that campaign.
