With the season well under way, it’s worth noting that a former Braves player is still a free agent on May 11.

Eddie Rosario is currently available to sign with any team in the MLB.

The Braves wrote (via X) on May 9, 2025: “The #Braves today selected INF Luke Williams to the major league roster and designated OF Eddie Rosario for assignment.”

Rosario has yet to appear in an MLB game since getting let go by the Braves in 2025.

He played 38 games in the Puerto Rican Winter League (and was with Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic).

Francys Romero of Beisbol FR wrote (on March 6): “Eddie Rosario hits an RBI single and Puerto Rico now leads 3–0 over Colombia in the 5th inning. The crowd at Hiram Bithorn Stadium erupts. At 34 years old, Rosario is currently a free agent, but he has the World Baseball Classic to change that.”

Rosario’s MLB Career

Rosario was picked in the fourth round of the 2010 MLB Draft.

He spent the first six years of his career with the Minnesota Twins.

Following a brief stint with the Cleveland Guardians, Rosario played two and a half seasons for the Braves.

In that span, the Braves won the 2021 World Series (and he was the NLCS MVP).

The Athletic wrote (on October 24, 2021): “Eddie Rosario is your 2021 NLCS MVP. ◽️ Tied for most hits in single playoff series (14) ◽️ 3rd-highest BA in single playoff series (.560) ◽️ 3 HRs, 6 runs, 9 RBIs in this series”

Rosario then had stints with the Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers.

He also had two more stops with the Braves during that time.
