Fiery West Loop car crash kills 2 people

Two people died in a fiery car crash in the West Loop neighborhood early Sunday, Chicago police said.

The car crashed into a highway support column and caught fire around 2 a.m. in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street, police said. Chicago firefighters put out the flames and found two people inside the car, according to police.


The two people were pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives are investigating the cause of the crash.
