Fatal hit-and-run crash in Aurora closes Colfax Avenue, Havana Street

A fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian shut down the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Havana Street on Friday morning.

The vehicle involved in the crash was found nearby, but the driver has not been identified, according to a statement from the Aurora Police Department.

Officers from the department’s traffic unit were at the scene around 5:30 a.m. Friday to investigate.

There is no current estimate on when the roads will reopen, the Aurora Police Department stated.
